Came accross this article on fb after the great debate last week -unveiling of the Malaysian Education Plan 2026–2035.

Extracting the sentence that sasy its all... School is not a finishing school for basic bodily independence. It is a place to grow potential—not to replace parental ...responsibility.

Building Bridges Through Art! 🎨✨

On Friday, January 10th, we were delighted to welcome Year 10 and 11 IGCSE Art & Design students from Seri Botani International School, Ipoh for a day of inspiration and collaboration.

The energy was electric as we kicked off with a ..."Creative Journey" showcase. A huge shoutout to our Year 11 students, Mahaveer and Sophia, for sharing their personal progress on Component 1—there’s nothing quite like peer-to-peer learning to spark new ideas! 💡

Our visitors also received a technical masterclass from Ms. Feeda, who broke down the roadmap for navigating Art & Design assessment criteria with confidence.

The real magic happened during our collaborative workshop. Watching students from both schools team up to brainstorm themes, develop sub-plans, and present their final concepts was truly inspiring. We wrapped up the day with a friendly lunch at our school café, celebrating new friendships and shared passions.

Thank you, Seri Botani International School, for joining us! We love building bridges through the arts. 🤝🎨

Excellence Beyond the Classroom: Celebrating Roumen Guha

From the classrooms of Tanarata International Schools, Malaysia, to becoming a Robotics Software Engineer at Stack AV in the United States. His journey reflects the school’s ethos of nurturing curiosity, resilience, and global-mindedness.

A proud Tanarata alumnus, Class of 2012 (Romans House), Roumen discovered his passion for STEM early on, nurtured by a learning environment that encouraged innovation and global thinking. He went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering & Mathematics from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, followed by a Master’s degree in Robotics Engineering from the University of California, San Diego. At XPeng Motors, Roumen contributed to the development of intelligent systems that enable vehicles to perceive their environment, make decisions, and navigate safely.

Today, Roumen is an Autonomous Software Engineer, working at the forefront of robotics, applying advanced software, AI, and engineering principles to real-world challenges, demonstrating the mentorship values he learned at TiS.

Roumen’s journey from the lush campus of Tanarata International Schools to reshaping the future of autonomous vehicles serves as an inspiring reminder that a TiS education doesn’t just prepare you for university; it prepares you to make a meaningful impact on the world.

Jessica Yeong

Founder of Vegecore

From Tanarata to Entrepreneurship: Jessica Yeong, Founder of Vegecore

Jessica’s journey began right here in our classrooms, where she developed a passion for science, sustainability, and problem-solving. From exploring local cultures through Tanarata field trips to earning her Food Science degree, she bridged passion with purpose, turning a personal commitment to health and sustainability into a thriving business.

Today, she is an entrepreneur, a food scientist, and the visionary founder behind Vegecore, Malaysia’s plant-based ready-to-eat meal brand that is reshaping how Malaysians (and beyond) experience vegetarian food. Jessica and her team are redefining what it means to eat smart in a fast-paced world.

Her story captured national attention when VulcanPost featured Vegecore as one of Malaysia’s innovative plant-based food brands shaking up the ready-to-eat market. Vegecore recognised as one of Asia’s Best Vegan & Plant-Based Brands, expanding to Singapore and building international awareness.

Jessica’s entrepreneurial journey as a successful founder highlights the values instilled at Tanarata International Schools: innovation, community impact, and global-mindedness.

Surhuthee Doraisingam

Perfect 100 in IGCSE Mathematics

Top in the World: Surhuthee Doraisingam’s Perfect 100 in IGCSE Mathematics

In a world that often mistakes noise for achievement and celebration for success, Surhuthee Doraisingam offers us a different story. A story not of a climactic, fireworks-filled victory, but of a quiet, profound journey to the very edge of what is possible.

We are immensely proud to celebrate Surhuthee Doraisingam, a current Tanarata student who achieved a perfect score of 100 in the May/June 2025 Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics examination, earning her the prestigious distinction of Top in the World.

For Surhuthee, the perfect score was not a sudden triumph but the natural conclusion of a long, disciplined journey. As she reflects: “Seeing that perfect score was a validation of my effort, but I didn’t feel elated; I simply felt that I had met expectations. It was only later, as the abundant messages of congratulations came in, that the significance of the award began to amplify.”

Surhuthee credits her success not only to her own dedication but also to the unwavering support of her parents and teachers. Mentors who transformed complex concepts into clarity, who demanded precision in logic, and who believed in her potential even when the curriculum became most demanding.

At Tanarata International Schools, we are proud to walk alongside students like Surhuthee—where excellence is not chased but steadily built.

Mahaveer Singh

School Captain 2025–2026

Leading with Purpose: Mahaveer Singh, School Captain 2025–2026

At Tanarata International Schools, we often say that leadership is not a destination but a journey. For Mahaveer Singh, that journey began in September 2015 as a Year 1 student. Today, over a decade later, we are incredibly proud to introduce him as our School Captain for the 2025–2026 academic year.

From his early involvement on the Prefectorial Board in both primary and secondary school to his consistent service on the Student Council from Year 8 through Year 11, Mahaveer has demonstrated a leadership style grounded in collaboration and unwavering commitment to the Tanarata community.

Mahaveer’s impact is felt across every corner of our campus. As the Main Head of the Innovation & Tech Expo 2025, he demonstrated an exceptional ability to turn complex ideas into reality. He has spearheaded major student-led projects that required not just creativity but also the organizational grit and teamwork that define a true visionary.

As School Captain, Mahaveer’s journey reflects more than just personal achievement; it reflects a deep appreciation for the school that has shaped him.

Ms. Zaifeeda Zainul Abidin

Teacher, Tanarata International Schools

Ms. Zaifeeda Zainul Abidin - A Canvas of Excellence

Ms. Feeda is a living testament to Tanarata International Schools’ commitment to high-quality teaching and holistic education. Ms. Zaifeeda Zainul Abidin, fondly known to students and colleagues as Ms. Feeda, embodies a rare blend of artistic mastery, academic rigour, and heartfelt mentorship into every classroom she leads.

With nearly 19 years of teaching experience and over 12 years specialising in the Art & Design IGCSE syllabus, she has consistently guided students to achieve A and A* grades, cultivating generations of confident, skilled young artists. She challenges students to think deeply, observe carefully, and push beyond what they believe is possible while providing a safe space for experimentation, mistakes, and discovery.

Beyond examination success, Ms. Feeda’s impact shines through the achievements of her students on national and international platforms. In 2024, she mentored Regina Ng Hie Huey, who won 1st Prize (Secondary Category) at the MYTIGER Values Art Competition & Exhibition 2024—a prestigious event that celebrates creativity, values, and social consciousness through art.

She has consistently produced students who achieved Top in Malaysia for Art & Design IGCSE 0400 for three consecutive years (2014-2016, Oct/Nov exams). “Art is not just about the final piece on the wall,” Ms. Feeda believes. “It is about the pensive hours of planning, the resilience to try a new medium, and the clarity that comes from meticulous design.”

At Tanarata International Schools, we celebrate educators like Ms. Feeda, whose vision, expertise, and mentorship continue to shape generations of creative leaders.

Hana Norhafiz

Vice Captain (AY 2025–2026)

Growing Through Every Step: Hana Norhafiz, School Vice Captain (AY 2025–2026)

Hana’s story began in September 2017. Attracted by the “charming greenery and welcoming atmosphere,” she made a firm decision to spend her school life learning here. From overcoming academic challenges to discovering her strengths, Hana’s journey reflects the power of perseverance. She admits she was not the “exceptionally clever student” at first, but each setback became a stepping stone, pushing her to strive higher and ultimately culminating in the Vice-Captain badge she now wears with pride.

Tanarata’s emphasis on holistic education gave Hana opportunities to explore beyond academics. “I can positively say that I am an extremely competitive person,” Hana reflects.
From volleyball and football to badminton and basketball, Hana has leveraged the countless sports Tanarata offers to gain the experience and grit needed to strive for esteemed goals after graduation.

While the badges and trophies are memorable, for Hana, the true treasures of her Tanarata journey are the friendships and memories she has built. She recalls the Year 9 Port Dickson field trip as one of the most unforgettable moments filled with laughter, horror movie marathons, beach visits, and shared experiences that deepened bonds among classmates.

At Tanarata International Schools, we are proud to celebrate Hana not only as a Vice Captain but also as a student whose journey reflects the heart of our community. Having spent over eight years in our community, Hana’s journey is a beautiful testament to how “learning beyond textbooks” shapes the leaders of tomorrow.
